George Turner was born in 1919 in Dalham (Newmarket Q3-1919 3B:638) son of George William and Emma TURNER (née BRIGGS) of Dalham. None have been identified in the 1939 register. |
George was captured on Sunday 15th February 1942 when the British surrendered Singapore to the Japanese. He was in HQ Conpany.
Put to work on the Burma-Siam railway, he died at Nikki Camp (Ni Thea) 133 kilometres south of Thanbyuzayat, the northern terminus.
